This page explains what cookies this website uses, and what they are for. It is accurate as of the date at the bottom, and will be updated if that ever changes.
The short version
This site does not track you. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising network, no social media pixel and no third-party embedded content on the pages you browse. Nothing about your visit is shared with anyone.
The fonts are served from this website rather than from Google, so your browser makes no request to any outside company when a page loads.

Both are strictly necessary cookies under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations: the first exists only to record your own preference, and the second only to keep an administrator signed in.
The contact form
When you send a message through the contact form, the details you type are emailed to Nazir Afzal’s office so that your enquiry can be answered, and a copy is stored on this website. The stored copy exists because email is unreliable: a message that is filtered as spam or silently dropped would otherwise be lost.
That copy holds only what you typed — your name, email address, telephone number and organisation if you gave them, the type of enquiry and your message. Your IP address is not recorded. It is visible only to the site’s administrators, is never published, is not added to a mailing list and is not passed to anyone else. The form itself sets no cookies.
If you would like your enquiry deleted from the site once it has been dealt with, say so in your message or get in touch again, and it will be removed.
Changing your mind
Select Cookie preferences at the foot of any page to see the notice again and change your choice.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Every major browser lets you do this, and blocking the cookies above will not stop this site working, though you may see the cookie notice on each visit.
